In defence of running in the rain
Every June the rainy season arrives and the river path empties. Most people move indoors. I think they are missing the best runs of the year.
Why it is better
It is cooler. The path is quiet. The city smells different. And there is something deeply satisfying about coming home soaked and taking a hot shower.
How to do it without misery
A light cap keeps the rain out of your eyes. Avoid cotton entirely. Put your phone in a zip bag. Stuff your shoes with newspaper afterwards so they dry by morning.
You are only cold for the first five minutes.
